Summary of the Main Features of the Project :

The project is aimed at creation of a regional Centre of Higher Education for People with Disabilities at the Crimean University of Humanities (CUH) in Yalta, Ukraine into line with international achievements, experience and models by March 2008 and its further development and sustainable functionning within university structure. Everyday activity of the Centre assures development of a system of the disabled training and granting equal treatment in higher education for them according to the given EU and national educational experience. Project specific objective will be achieved by elaboration of the strategy of disabled people's socialisation and integration into modern society based on analysis of the national, regional and local conditions of the disabled higher education and EU modern experience in providing educational services for this category of people; establishment of the Centre of Higher Education for People with Disabilities, its legalisation and maintenance, e-library development; retraining of administrative and academic staff to work with the disabled people; creation and updating of the Regional Resource Centre containing information on potential students, employers, teachers involved in disabled people's education, organisations providing services for the disabled; creation of a general Modern Model of Higher Education for People with Disabilities which includes methodology of professional orientation, pre-school trainings, adaptation and integrative high school education for the disabled, and its implementation at CUH level; presentations of the project results during the conferences and seminars, on a website, in newsletters, newspaper "Humanitarium", and mass-media.
